Consultant Project
Expanding traditional crafts beyond a set method and scale is difficult as the artform is often quite intuitive and works at the human scale. This project looks at analytically constructing the kagome weave and creating a tool for exploring and constructing forms without limitations. The project seeks to expand the arsenal of expert craftsman and reduce their dependency on designers.
The Algorithm
There are multiple steps that allows us to determine the exact geometry of the woven design given an input form. This allows us to also visualize and render the weave for product visualization before having made the weave. This serves as a tool for rapid ideation and iteration for product generation and diversification.
